LebCo Athletes of the Week
Congratulations to the following student-athletes who our voters chose as the newest LebCo Athletes of the Week. Join us in congratulating Karter, Kaddel, and Hayley! Here is the list of nominees, along with the accomplishments of everyone who was up for this week’s award.

Demler Sets New Covenant Record
New Covenant’s Qynne Demler set the school’s single-season scoring record, finishing her freshman campaign with 515 points. The dynamic guard averaged 22.4 points over the course of the 23-game season. Her season high came on January 26th when she dropped 42 points on Covenant Christian. For her efforts, Demler was recognized as a CCAC All-Conference selection. (published 2/28 @ 11 pm)
Palmyra Ice Hockey Set for Flyers Cup Tournament
Earlier this week, Palmyra Ice Hockey found out that they were one of three CPIHL teams selected to take part in the 2024 Flyers Cup Tournament. There were a total of thirty-six teams chosen from across southeast Pennsylvania. Palmyra is among twelve teams battling it out in the ‘A’ division, along with CPIHL rivals Hershey and Lower Dauphin.
In the first round, the Cougars will travel to West Chester to play the Penncrest Lions. That game will take place on Monday, March 4th. Go Cougars! (published 2/28 @ 11 pm)
Palmyra Divers Compete at District Championships
While the District 3 Swim Championships will take place this weekend, the Diving portion of the event took place this past Friday at Dover High School. Palmyra had two competitors in the girls’ competition. Both earned medals. Junior Kristen Thai finished 6th with a score of 337.65, while Elaina Potter, also a junior, finished just behind her teammate in the 7th position after achieving a score of 313.95. Thai will now advance to the PIAA Championships. (published 2/27 @ 6 am)
Camden Marquette took to social media on Monday to announce his commitment to continue his Soccer career at Lock Haven University. Marquette, a three-sport star at ELCO, scored 30 goals and tallied 12 assists during his senior season Soccer season and earned All-State Honors. He now has the chance to continue to shine at the D2 level. (published 2/27 @ 6 am)
Correa Named MVP in Title Game
While many eyes recently have been on Lebanon’s Kailah Correa, her older sister has been tearing it up while playing for Penn State – Harrisburg. On Saturday, Giahny Correa scored 13 points in the United East Conference Championship as PSU earned the 64-54 win over Saint Elizabeth. For her efforts, the junior was named the game’s MVP. As a result of the win, PSU-Harrisburg earned their first-ever invite into the NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament. They found out on Monday that they will face SUNY New Paltz on March 1st.
This seasonCorrea has averaged 17.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. She was Lebanon’s last 1,000-point scorer before her sister joined in reaching the milestone. (published 2/27 @ 6 am)
